Handling Raw Frozen Food

Handling Raw Frozen Food

Ralph from @_COUPLEOFCOCKERS

Whether you're new to raw feeding, or a seasoned pro, it's always important to practice good hygiene.

Wilsons Pet Food are a proud member of the PFMA (Pet Food Manufacturers' Association), who provide key information on handling raw pet food.

They state that raw food designed for dogs carries no greater risk than when handling fresh meat intended for human consumption, however pet owners need to ensure to practice good hygiene at home to maintain high standards of hygiene to prevent contamination.

The PFMA's top tips for handling food are:
- Wash your hands with hot water and soap after handling
- Wash all dishes, utensils and surfaces that come in contact with raw food immediately after use
- Once your dog has finished eating, make sure you dispose of all uneaten food
- Clean and disinfect your dog's feeding area once they have finished eating

Wilsons produces Raw Frozen dog food which will be delivered or picked up in a frozen state.
